Beauty's Worth

Paramount Pictures
A Cosmopolitan Production, 1922
Screenplay by Luther Reed from a story by Sophie Kerr
Sets by Joseph Urban
Directed by Robert G. Vignola

Cast:
Marion Davies, Forrest Stanley, June Elvidge, Truly Shattuck, Yeamans Titus, Halam Cooley, Aileen Manning.

Synopsis:
Marion Davies as a Quaker maid who is transformed into a socialite by a renowned artist. Once she charms the elite, she sets her sites (and gets) the man of her dreams. Realizing that she doesn't love him after all she dumps the former man of her dreams and bonds with the artist who remade her.  This one is available on VHS from Videobrary in Hollywood.  It starts out very Victorian and creaky like the older silent films, but it ends up being very enjoyable by the end of the story.
